Youth Lagoon share visuals for “The Knower”

“The Knower” is taken from Youth Lagoon‘s third album Savage Hills Ballroom, out on Fat Possum.

Following the release of their third album Savage Hills Ballroom, Idaho-based indie band Youth Lagoon have just shared a video for the lead single “The Knower”. About the track, the band’s leader Trevor Powers explained on the “Song Exploder” podcast:

I remember being really overwhelmed about the way I had viewed myself for a really long time. I think when we look in the mirror, we only see what we really want to see. It’s easy to focus on your strong points and get consumed with that and forget about negative areas of your life, or things you need to work on. It’s easy to ignore the shitty parts of your life, you know, and I think writing this song was sort of my way of dealing with that.

In the visuals, which were directed by Lucas Navarro, we follow the escapes of an old lady from a nursing home on fire and a bird from its cage. Watch below.
