Darién Geep’s mini album The Sunset House sounds like a sun-soaked getaway

Out today, Darién Geep's The Sunset House takes listeners on a sun-soaked journey to the shores of Greece.

Imagine a musical melting pot where psychedelic rock, funky grooves, and experimental vocals collide in a kaleidoscope of sound. That’s the world of Darién Geep, a four-piece band hailing from Bremen, Germany, that’s playing with the boundaries of indie music. These sonic alchemists have crafted a unique identity by embracing hybridity, blending diverse musical elements into a sound that’s as different as it is captivating.

Darién Geep‘s latest musical offering, a mini album entitled the sunset house, takes listeners on a sun-soaked journey to the shores of Greece. In September 2023, band members Marla, Don, and Julian traded their usual studio for the Mediterranean coastline, armed with synthesizers, microphones, and an insatiable creative spirit. The result? Eight fresh tracks that capture the essence of their summery getaway, infused with the flavors of Greek salads, the buzz of frappés, and the rhythmic lull of azure waves. This new collection showcases a slight departure from their established style, and proves that sometimes, the most inspiring studio is a sun-drenched beach.
