Lipsticism releases new album, Wanted To Show You

Chicago-based solo artist Lipsticism shares Wanted To Show You, her fist album out via Phantom Limb.

Chicago artist Alana Schachtel aka Lipsticism has just released her stunning new album, Wanted To Show You, made up of 14 dreamy tracks that are all must-listens for the summer.

Throughout the record, musician and producer Alana Schachtel has intricately weaved together her lush vocals with elements of experimental pop, shoegaze, ambient and more. The broad range of genres flows seamlessly though and seemingly could set listeners into a trance.

Schachtel says the record is about “the fleeting nature of relationships. The feeling of wanting to connect with someone after they have passed.” Many of the lyrics are sorrowful but the vocals still shine through each track. And much of her songwriting begins by imagining choreography first, then creating rhythms and melodies.
