Tycho and Sea Lemon dropped a dreamy ambient single this week, “Anotherwave”. The two West coast-based artists teamed up after Tycho’s Scott Hansen said he heard Sea Lemon, a.k.a Natalie Lew, on the radio while driving late at night.
“I was driving through, like the Central Valley and, and Eraser came on and I was just like, what is this?” said Hansen, in a Instagram Live conversation about the song on Wednesday. “I had these few songs that I really felt like needed this really specific kind of vocal treatment. And it just really was like, well, that’s it.”
Hansen and Lew then traded ideas back and forth through Instagram and ended crafting “Anotherwave”.
“When Scott (Tycho) reached out to me and shared this song, I instantly felt a connection to the underwater-like quality of the sounds and textures,” added Lew.
The duo have done some incredible work on their own in recent years, with Lew’s debut 2025 album Diving For a Prize and Hansen’s 2024 album Infinite Health. Tycho has released a series of impressive collaborations over the last few years with a series of artists including ODESZA, Maggie Rogers, Little Dragon, Leon Bridges, and Death Cab for Cutie.
