Yawning Portal, the duo, made up of Jess Mai Walker and Joseph Ware, has worked on the project over the last three years across two continents. It was crafted as a nonstop listening experience that explores the theme of untethering during our hyperconnected times. It’s described as “music to levitate to” and it certainly feels that way the further lost in the album you get.
All 15 tracks were clearly a labor of love and all that time paid off. From ‘In Iowa’ to ‘My City,’ ‘Video’ – every single one is a standout. Each one unique is imaginative, dynamic and incredibly interesting.
