Dagmar Zuniga didn’t arrive with a big campaign or a carefully staged debut. Instead, the artist quietly shared a collection of songs online in early 2025, letting them find their own path. Little by little, listeners began passing the record around, drawn to its mysterious and intimate atmosphere. The album soon developed a cult following and caught the attention of Phil Elverum, who later invited Zuniga to join him on tour. Now the tastemaker label AD 93 is giving the project a wider life, as it brings the album to streaming platforms and preparing a full physical release.
Titled in filth your mystery is kingdom / far smile peasant in yellow music, the record stands apart from almost anything we’ve heard in recent months, unfolding in a fragile, otherworldly space of its own. Written and recorded between 2019 and 2024 on a Tascam 424 in New York, Norway and Athens, Georgia, the songs feel like small sonic worlds slowly revealing themselves. Zuniga layers voices into ghostly harmonies while synths glimmer beneath moody, time bent guitars. Many of the tracks revolve around hypnotic repetition, spinning gently before dissolving into the next moment. If you have a soft spot for dreamy, spectral music that seems to float somewhere between worlds, this is a highly recommended listen. Already available digitally, the album will arrive in full physical form on April 10, 2026, with vinyl, CD and cassette editions.
