Danish composer and producer Marie Louise Buch, who records under the name ML Buch, has a special way of creating music that feels quietly transportive. We were especially taken by her 2023 album Suntub, which remains one of our favourite releases from that year thanks to its glowing guitars and gently immersive atmosphere. Since then, she has released a piano piece, “getting to know each other,” and continued to appear across a handful of collaborations, including contributing vocals to Oliver Coates’ Pillion soundtrack and joining Smerz on their Big city life EDITS, alongside some of the most interesting artists in the current Copenhagen scene.
Now she has uploaded a new piece to YouTube called “untitled 2016 2026”. The instrumental track carries a lovely sense of quiet movement, gradually unfolding in warm, shimmering layers. In the caption, Buch explains the song’s origin simply: “felt like finishing this track from 2016.” The video, that she made with Agnete Hannibal Petri, matches that gentle, simple mood perfectly, as it shows a person skipping down a road while carrying a baby, with a cheerful dog briefly appearing along the way.
