“Times To Die” is taken from Car Seat Headrest‘s new album, Teens Of Style, out on October 30 via Matador Records.
Following on from “Something Seen” and “No Passion,” 22-year-old singer-songwriter Will Toledo aka Car Seat Headrest has just unveiled a lyric video for “Times To Die,” another single lifted from his upcoming album Teens Of Style. If you’re a fan of Toledo, you probably already know that this meditation on religion, art and life was already featured on his 2012 album Monomania. “Times To Die” was written after that Toledo failed to submit his music to a label when he was 16 ( “Fuck Merge Records,” he sings). The track also mentions Chris Lombardi, who is Matador‘s founder (“Got to believe that Lombardi loves me”).
Teens Of Style marks the debut of Car Seat Headrest on Matador, after 5 years of career and not less than 11 projects. And the prolific artist doesn’t plan to slow down: his next album Teens of Denial is already planned for 2016.
