“PHONES” is taken from ANNIE-CLAUDE DESCHÊNES‘ debut album LES MANIÈRES DE TABLE, out this Spring via Italians Do It Better and BONSOUND.
Previously known for her work in Duchess Says & PyPy, Montreal multi-talented artist ANNIE-CLAUDE DESCHÊNES made quite an impression with her debut track “MENACE MINIMALE,” which ended up pretty high in our Best Songs of 2023 list.
DESCHÊNES has now announced the release of her debut album, LES MANIÈRES DE TABLE, and shared a new single, “PHONES.” Starting as a routine call to make a restaurant reservation, the track progressively spirals into an anxiety-inducing experience. “PHONES” shows the absurdity of strict adherence to good manners, which can result in excessive and awkward formality.
