Seoul-based indie pop singer-songwriter and producer Aseul follows up on her 2018’s album Asobi with a dreamy new track about love and loneliness. In her chimerical and autobiographical new offering, “Joke”, the artist is desperately waiting for a call from her lover; a call that she will ultimately never receive. About the self-produced track, Aseul detailed on The 405 where we discovered her:
The lyrics are what I’ve been through. He didn’t answer the phone. Lonely and lonely. and i usually say ‘I don’t believe in love’… as if I’m joking in a smile. i think love is anxious, miserable, beautiful and sad.
