Meet Louie El Ser, a Mexican and Salvadoran artist, producer, and multi instrumentalist based in San Francisco, whose music moves between experimental pop, Latin rhythms, and darker electronic sounds. Growing up with a jazz singer and bandleader for a mother, Louie was surrounded by music from an early age and started producing their own material as a teenager. After two self released EPs, Blood Red Jams (2019) and Altars and Egos (2022), they released their debut album Cerebral in 2026, an adventurous blend of cumbia, reggaeton, and experimental electronics.
Now, Louie El Ser has decided to revisit “Track 10”, the beloved closing track from Charli XCX‘s 2017 mixtape Pop 2. Their version, titled “track10 pero despacio”, brings the song into their own musical world, mixing experimental electronic pop with Latin alternative influences, and wrapping the whole with a dreamy touch. This isn’t necessarily the kind of vibes we’d usually go for, but “Track 10” is one of our favourite Charli songs, and quite possibly one of our favourite songs of all time, so there was no way we were skipping this one. Louie has a personal connection to the original, which has influenced both their production and songwriting, and this reinterpretation feels like their way of paying tribute to a song that clearly means a lot to them. And we can certainly relate to that. Stream the remix below or via our Forecast Tape playlist on Spotify.
