During the winter, viruses and bacteria invade the air we breathe and it is really difficult to escape all of them. The parallel that we could do with the debut track from Brooklyn-based mysterious duo Me Not You is rather far-fetched, I admit it. Yet it perfectly describes the infectious power and aerial sounds of “Bulletproof“.
What is particularly appealing about Me Not You‘s debut track is the fact that they take the opposite course to what we can already hear everywhere on the mainstream radios. The song is timeless, both from the past (the 90s if we refer to the grungy artwork and the diluted guitars) and the future.
They lyrics are quite universal and can talk to everyone. As written in the press release, Me Not You‘s “Bulletproof” encapsulates the swirling uncertainty of a personal crossroads. We can find back this feeling into the soprano vocals that are shot up in the air like an aerial acrobat in between two flying trapezes. They are dreamlike, loaded with hope and despair at the same time.
no, we were never bulletproof
but the future is here
there’s a new feeling in the air
we got nothing to lose
and we were never bulletproof
So far, the duo Me Not Not You wants to remain anonymous. Nevertheless, you can still connect with them on their Soundcloud, Instagram, and Twitter.
