brother sports‘ new track “same strangers” is out now.
Formerly a duo consisting of homies Ishaq and Anthony, brother sports are now an Austin-based five-piece crafting psychedelic and lo-fi indie pop. Their dreamy new cut, “same strangers,” comes with a particularly interesting build up. Written after the passing of the band Her’s, the track draws a parallel between a breakup and this tragic event. The second half captures the moment where sadness turns into anger when you have to deal with loss and grief and wake up with so many unanswered questions. “I don’t know how to behave / when I’m too in my mind / I drink a few things just to get by / I never say the right things to strangers now,” they sing.
