Tasmania native Calypso recently dropped her debut epnomymous EP and it’s a sweet pop bundle that you won’t want to miss out on.
You may have heard of Calypso when she released lead single “Numbered” earlier this year, but the other three tracks on this EP are also something worthwhile to listen to.

“Hunting” is an indie-electro pop track that has all the right grooves to catch the attention of your ears. The lyrics are sparse and chanted like a dance-worthy mantra. The track is uplifted by a dance beat evocative of the disco-glittered 70s; however, sweeping synths and guitar rifts will tell you it’s about as modern as it gets.

The EP is a combination of old and new material. Calypso started the writing process for her EP a few years back, around the time that she first began experimenting with electronic music.
On the EP, Calypso comments,
The EP is also about the push & pull of love, how we can connect with other people and how we can move apart from one another as well. I hope the EP can take the listener on a bit of a journey, as they connect and relate to the words and the music through their own personal experiences”
With her self-titled EP, whose “Hunting” is a highlight, Calypso has delivered an impressive debut that showcases her strong sound as a pop artist. Each track explores the multifaceted emotions of relationships, and we as listeners get to experience this with our ears.
