Every Wednesday on HighClouds, we post the much-awaited and surprising playlist of our Brussels‘ friend, tastemaker and collaborator: sir Deer Du Bois.
For the first playlist of the year, our curator has already started off having a blast and here are his first picks in pop & indie and everything in between!
Let’s go on a indietronic ride with EXES and their new single “Taxi”. We explore emotional power-pop with newcomer Catherine Clarnette and her single “A Love So Good”. On the other hand, Grace Turner brings us folk-pop with the therapeutic track “Angry”.
Boston based singer Jenny wraps you up in her touching Britney Spears cover on “My Loneliness Is Killing Me”. Prince Bunny (already the award for cutest band name of 2018) keeps us lo-fi mooded with their slow-burning “Pieces”.
Melbourne god Oscar Key Sung lights the fire with the swinging “Fools” that features Ah Mer Ah Su and HTML Flowers. Fresh prince Sam Amant surprises us with his experimental Shamir-style sound on “Chicken”! One to follow in 2018! Let’s finish with Boston vocalist Kayluh Nicohle and her latest song “Shadows” that reminds us a sort of new sad-Kelela and FKA twigs of 2018!
If you want to drink a bit more until you get tipsy, you should check him on Facebook and Soundcloud, and follow his regular posts on our site.
