Finally it is getting hot! This week’s playlist by curator Free Anckaert is here with a selection of his favorite tracks.
Our curator scours through hundreds of SoundCloud tracks to find the best new gems by artists that are flying under the radar. Our Brussels-based Free fellow overwhelms you with a variety of songs that make your head go nuts. Here are a few of his favorites:
NON WORLDWIDE:
The record label of founders Chino Amobi, Nkisi and Angel-Ho that stands for global sound, African artists and black diaspora is the common thread in this playlist. They are releasing a three-part compilation and explain the compilation genetic theme, saying “NON conducted a genome-wide association study in 42 NON citizens. Our result: 42 tracks, three albums.”
DJ Charme – Aurora X:
May I call Midlife, the Belgian Non Worldwide? No really. I suppose I’d be jumping to conclusions. But the label succeeds to collect the most interesting artists in the country, make them collaborate and release (by far) the best Belgian music of the moment. DJ Charme’s charme is the latest stunning release.
TERR – Have You Ever:
Rapid electronica beats, loads of new wave vibes, analog synth: the main ingredients of Brazilian producer TERR. She just released her debut EP ‘Have You Ever’, consisting of three very danceable tracks (+ dub version of “Have You Ever”) all accompanied by her metallic robotic voice. One to keep a serious eye on!
