Free Anckaert’s playlist #7: Danny L Harle, Slowdive, FLOHIO and more!

Look who is back! Our brand new playlist curator Free Anckaert – note to native English speakers: yes that’s his real name, it’s not a nickname – is back with a selection of his favorite tracks.

Every week, Free scours through hundreds of SoundCloud tracks to find the best new gems by artists that are flying under the radar.

Each week our Brussels-based fellow overwhelms you with a variety of songs that make your head go nuts. Here are a few of his favorites:

Slowdive – Sugar For The Pill (Avalon Emerson’s Gilded Escalation):

I hate it when apps like Spotify suggest remixes as I never listen to any. In times where algorithms seem the new best playlist curators (ha they’re not) I don’t get how that still happens. Anyway, as “Sugar For The Pill” by Slowdive is an overwhelmingly beautiful song, it’s no surprise this remix is more than OK for a remix. PS: LISTEN to the new Slowdive album NOW!

You’ll Never Get To Heaven – Images:

“Images” is the title track of the new album of indie pop-duo You’ll Never Get To Heaven and it is without any doubt the most gorgeous song of this playlist. In a way, it makes me think about the tropical percussion and voice timbre of Buscabulla – another pop duo that deserves a lot more attention – though more spherical and intimite.

Danny L Harle – Me4U feat. Morrie:

Danny is becoming a regular in my playlist and I’m not sorry for that! The guy keeps making the best pop tunes. Period.

K A D A H N / E L A D A I R – Come Gone:

The best soundscapes of this week, from the NY-based K A D A H N / E L A D A I R his/her new Breaking Polygon EP.
