HAWK denounce political maneuvers with the video of "Static"

Indie rock activist band HAWK, which is led by the guitarist-vocalist Julie Hawk, are back this month with an upcoming EP “She Knows”. Watch the video for the single “Static” and check they will be playing near you for their UK and Ireland coming tour.

HAWK don’t want to be labeled as a political band. Nevertheless, one can say that they are at least activists as they regularly deal with and mirror the inequalities and exclusions they meet in their everyday life. Those themes are turned into (post-)rock tracks and videos, just like with this new single “Static” that is definitely targeting political maneuvers. As the band detailed:

‘Static’ is about leaders who jump on the band wagon of popular subjects for political gain but who don’t take any actual steps toward change and legislation. It’s about the madness of saying one thing and doing another. We read about a lot of politicians doing this during the Marriage Equality vote in Ireland back in 2015, when there was seemed to be huge gap between the amount of politicians who happily claimed to support the referendum, and those who actually campaigned or offered genuine support behind closed doors.

“Static” will be featured on their upcoming EP “She Knows” which is out on March 17 via Veta Records. HAWK will also be touring in March through the UK and Ireland. Check the full itinerary below:
