iLL Camille tells the truth of being black in America with ‘Black Gold’

Los Angeles MC and songwriter iLL Camille unveils a new video for ‘Black Gold’, the opening song of her album ‘HEIRLOOM’.

Compton has a new talent: iLL Camille is the rising rapper of the moment as she already released a promising album ‘HEIRLOOM’ and gained attention from major tastemakers. Taken from her latest album, ‘Black gold’ is the result of a triad of producers, DJ Battlecat, DdotOmen and Paperboy Fabe, but the real star is of course iLL Camille who has the words, punchlines and rhymes to tell the truth of being black in America. In the beautiful and authentic Red Carter-produced video, the artist brings us to the streets of her hometown: Los Angeles. About the track, she detailed:

I didn’t think too much— I said what came to mind and heart. Always. I rather the person listening to the song dissect it. But if I had to sum up the feeling of it, what needs to be taken away most is that— no matter the circumstances, my people, God’s people, gon’ prevail
