M.I.A. shares 2 new tracks: MIA OLA and FOREIGN FRIEND [UPDATE]

Following her politically charged track “Borders“, M.I.A keeps on being inspired by migratory movements and frontiers as she just released two new tracks called “MIA OLA” and “FOREIGN FRIEND” with this text going with it: “OLA TO ALL MY FLYPIRATES and DJS – THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT !!!! LIVE FROM THE MEXICAN BORDER OLA !!!! MIA ON THE WAVES.”

“Mia Ola” is a succession of rhythm and ethnic loops, including a sample of Walt Disney‘s “The Lion King” track “The Circle Of Life”, with lyrics about foreigners, immigrants and Mexicans at the borders. It also references her track “Bamboo Banga” from her 2007’s LP “Kala”. We don’t know it yet for sure but the tracks could be featured on her upcoming album “Matahdatah”.
