[su_dropcap style=”simple”]O[/su_dropcap]ne week ago, M.I.A. shared “Borders”, a politically-charged new single that unfortunately is more relevant than ever. There is now a poignant video to go with it.
In the visual, the artist is standing up at a frontier where hundreds of refugees try to illegally cross some walls in order to survive. At some point, all these people also group together to form a boat. We all know the daily tragedies that happen at our borders when people try to escape destitution and war. M.I.A. has always been a true activist and it is important that some artists keep on fighting for these serious problems.
The track should be featured on a new album called “Matahdatah”, the follow-up to 2013’s “Matangi”.
