New and mesmerizing! We are delighted to announce that Maria Usbeck, singer of Brooklyn’s new wave-shoegaze band Selebrities, goes solo with the “Amparo LP”, a personal collection of songs she has written in her native Spanish tongue over the last years travelling and touring through exotic places from Easter Island to Costa Rica.
The first track to be released is the Spanish “Moai y Yo”, a dreamy and exotic song, produced by Chairlift‘s avant-pop-goddess Caroline Polachek, that takes you on far away trip, gently flowing on a glittering stream of electronic effects but primed over by the acoustic played instruments, like the marimba and the xylophone, making the music more expressive, warm and natural.
The LP will come out May 27th on Cascine/Labrador Records and will contain a Spanish re-interpreted cover of Colourbox’s dark classic “Tarantula”.
