Marissa Nadler – Janie In Love

MARISSA NADLER STRANGERS JANIE IN LOVE

More than ten years after her official debut album “Ballads of Living and Dying”, American folk singer-songwriter Marissa Nadler keeps on recounting some painful stories with her sober voice that sometimes sounds like a ghost who escaped from hell or paradise. Twelve years after, she is about to release “Stangers”, a seventh album set for release on May 20 on Sacred Bones/Bella Union, from which the beautiful “Janie In Love” is taken.

In this song, Nadler delivers a subtle but quite gritting chorus which, like a wild twister, inflames both fear and admiration. A feeling that perfectly fit some lyrics such as “You’re a natural disaster and I am watching you blow up everything”.
