“Crying Out Loud” is taken from Massage‘s debut album “Oh Boy” out on Tear Jerk Records.
Los Angeles-based five-piece indie pop band Massage, which was formed around The Pains of Being Pure At Heart‘s founding member Alex Naidus, recently unveiled their first album and two singles, “Lydia” and “Oh Boy“. “Crying Out Loud” is the new focus track off of this debut project and it explores “the frustration of deeply caring about someone but not being able to spend time with them without something going wrong”, according to their keyboardist and vocalist Gabi Ferrer. It comes with a video shot in the Italian capital and a statement from its director Thaddeus Ruzicka:
Rome is a city full of monuments and statues, these very dramatic echoes of past lives … It’s an appropriate setting for reflective contemplation, while also being a lively, cosmopolitan city. I wanted to tease out these threads without losing sight of the goofy histrionics. So yeah, dumb fun, have at it.
