Australian chanteuse MAY recently released a new track and video. “Ballerino” is a beautiful piece of haunted soul and the black and white video that goes with it beautifully oppose beauty and pain.
As written in the press release, MAY‘s “Ballerino” is an ode to a Parisian moment lost in time and the struggle to reconcile past and present. The video, that features ballet and mime, is a beautiful yet painful Meredith Truax-directed visuals where the dancer Shay Bares executes his graceful choreography that perfectly fits the depth and intensity of the New York-based artist’s singing. As fairly mentioned, the song reminds of Nina Simone and Leonard Cohen.
“Ballerino”, which was added to our daily-refreshed Spotify playlist DAILY DOSE FOR MUSIC JUNKIES, is the first of several songs planned for release in 2017. Stay tuned with MAY on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Soundcloud.
