Indie pop gang Polycool are dealing lemons in “Polywood” video

“Polywood” is taken from Polycool‘s new album LEMON LORD due out this Spring.

Formerly known as Abraxas, French indie pop band Polycool comprises four childhood friends who are certainly not devoid of humour. After an album following the life of a warthog and an EP dedicated to a bisexual trout, the Parisians are about to self-release this Spring a brand new conceptual record titled LEMON LORD.

Combining sunny synths, soulful melodies and a laid-back lo-fi groove, the acidulous first single of the project, “Polywood,” sets the pace. In the accompanying Clément Métayer-directed video, the band is turned into a not so dangerous gang dealing some lemons. Drawing as much from gangster movies than fetishist porn, the tongue-in-cheek visuals reinvent the history of Pablo Escobar and proudly display their vision of ‘bling bling on a budget’.
