Fresh off the release of their debut album ‘Kinship’, which peaked at #4 on the iTunes electronic charts in Canada, ICELANDIA has proven themselves as a unique force in music through effortlessly transcending dance music and falling into a realm of their own.
“Holy Ghost” is the chef-d’oeuvre of the Kelowna-based indie-trio. The track has deservingly served as the album’s stand-out single, and over a year later, we are now presented with a beautiful visual piece to accompany it. Shot in Iceland, the video is an extraordinarily appropriate representation of the track.
In the video, we follow an unknown number of mysterious figures dressed in white and black gowns wander through breathless forests, snowy mountaintops, and cold beaches, all while frontman Anthony Martens’ sweet and soft-spoken singing mesmerizes the listener. The ambiguity of storyline adds a depth to the emotional plot that is further magnified by overwhelmingly stunning shots of landscape untouched by humanity or civilization. The entire production embodies the haunting yet light form of ICELANDIA‘s art.
