Rihanna released the video for “Anti” new single “Needed Me” which is by the way one of the best tracks of this long-awaited eighth studio LP. It was directed by famous film director and producer Harmony Korine, who notably wrote Larry Clark‘s controversial movies “Kids” and “Ken Park”, and directed “Spring Breakers”. He also have some experience in music videos and songwritting as he has previously worked for The Black Keys, Cat Power, Björk and so on.
Concerning “Needed Me” video:
Bassically, “Needed Me” video is a mix of “Pour It Up” and “Bitch Better Have My Money”. It features strip-clup, fat asses, gunshots and Rihanna‘s tits hardly hidden in her haute-couture dress. I have to say that personally I was expecting something more borderline from Harmony Korine. I loved the Larry Clark‘s movies for which he has contributed and it is a bit sad that the whole rendition remains a little bit too wise or mainstream for me.
“Needed Me” is the second single from “Anti”, with the ballad “Kiss It Better”. It follows the double-video for lead single “Work” with Drake that was. “Anti”, which was first a Tidal exclusive, is now available on iTunes.
