We were already having an eye on Sister Socrates, an Aussie four-piece band whose sound already reminded us of their fellas Tame Impala. Their sophomore track ‘Less Myself’, which features vocals from Kath Simpson of The Triangles, is a haunting and vulnerable indie pop song.
Sister Socrates are comprised of Adam Dean, Matthew Kenneally, Justin Olsson and Lachlan O’Kane and are based in the city of Melbourne. Following up to their debut single “Knife’s Edge”, this new track is driven by the bass and even if the execution sounds sometimes more garage than studio, it is a very convincing offering with a solid melody. The vocals of Dean and Simpson are dreamy, almost detached, and indeed we feel the lyrics so much.
