“My Producer” is taken from Smerz‘s Allina EP, to be released on February 1 via Shopping Records.
Norwegian experimental duo Smerz has announced the upcoming release of ALLINA, a conceptual EP that narrates the rapid ascent and subsequent decline of a fictional pop star who enjoys her 15 minutes of fame (hi Andy Warhol). Despite Allina‘s formal debut at a recent Paris Fashion Week show, the EP is set to be unveiled in early February through the duo’s newly established label, Shopping.
The electroclash, Peaches-esque lead single, titled “My Producer,” pays homage to ALLINA‘s producer and outlines their plans to propel her into stardom. Filmed and directed by her producer, the accompanying music video captures moments of enjoyment and creativity in the studio.
