Soft Wax‘s self-released new single, “Honestly,” is out now.
A Faversham-based production duo turned five-piece, Soft Wax are an up and coming band that have already shared the stage for the likes of Sports Team, Broken Hands and Walt Disco, amongst others. Following up on “Wy Do We Always Talk?,” they’re now back with a new single, “Honestly,” which coasts on dreamy soundscapes, synth layers, filters and a laidback groove; a combination that seems to mark a shift in musical direction and a more defined style for the band. But don’t judge the book by its cover: if this bedroom, gently psychedelic indie pop song sounds bright and lighthearted at first, it actually deals with the struggles of mental health, comparing them to a haunting.
