Irish singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson left Dublin when she was 18 to study in NYC and finally, she decided to make Brooklyn her home. Over the last year, she was writing and recording between New York and LA and the two tracks “Walk Away” and “Lost” are the result of this process.
In an interview with The 405, Sorcha Richardson explains that last summer was a kind of turning point in her creative process as she decided to borrow the bass of a friend and experiment a new way of songwriting, at night.
On Facebook, the artist shared a few words about “Lost”:
Heartbreak sucks. It really does. I wrote this song after my friend called to say that his girlfriend had broken up with him. He was devastated and I wanted to do something to cheer him up. I recorded it in LA at the start of the summer with Alex Casnoff (Harriet) who taught me so much and helped me turn it from a bedroom demo into an actual song. It soundtracked some of the best moments of my summer, days and nights I spent with the very people I had written it about. This one feels really special and I’m so happy I can finally share it.

More songs are to come as the artist promised us to regularly unveil tracks (every 3 weeks) on her Soundcloud account until November 4! Thus, I think it can be a good idea to follow her there!
