Stay cool, dance, be sad, fight the system with Water From Your Eyes

Chicago and NYC-based duo Water From Your Eyes recently shared “Cold Stare”, a sad but energetic brand new track. It is also the third song of 2017 from RIP Records‘ monthly series.

The recipe of “Cold Stare” is simple but effective: it mixes a catchy and retro synth-pop instrumental with moody lyrics and a heady melody. Water From Your Eyes, whose sounds balance both their pop and punk influences, want the audience to find their own meaning in their track. Indeed, Nate explained:

The concepts and methods are always evolving with the idea that the songs are like watermarks so that people see what they want to see in them

Then, Rachel added:

Stay cool. Dance. Be sad. Fight the system. Listen to “You Get What You Give” by The New Radicals as often as you can.

“Cold Stare” will be featured on their upcoming LP “Long Days No Dreams” due for release on April 14 via Sooper Records. Water From Your Eyes will also be playing at Chicago’s Beat Kitchen on April 22.
