Future R&B multi-talented icon D∆WN, aka Dawn Richard, has just offered the video treatment to her October’s Machinedrum-produced single “Stopwatch”. It was released earlier this year, in October, and was the follow up to her 2017’s amazing album “Redemption” which also features several productions from the American producer. Considering that it is snowing right now in Belgium, the colourful visuals of Mikhail Mehra are more than welcome. Watch D∆WN‘s video “Stopwatch” below.

RIN – Broke:

This American-Japanese, Brussels-based electronic artist RIN knows how to merge experiment with catchiness and high pitched stringlike tunes. If someone knows she’s performing in Brussels or elsewhere, please let me know!

Baba Stiltz – Can’t Help It:

From Swedish and Stockholm-based artists I always expect to hear indie/electro pop. Sorry for my prejudices to them who are not, including Baba Stiltz. Stiltz could easily chose to be a (boring but) well-paid straighforward house producer, as you can hear in the intro of “Can’t Help It”. Though the building tense gives away he can do a lot more and is going to something great. Cuz “Can’t Help” is an amazing dance pop song with emotional touch added by Stiltz’ soft Erlend Øye-ish voice.

Nick Nicely – The Otherside 2:

Described (in 2012 already) as “the greatest popstar that never was”, Nick Nicely is still around doing his thing and doing it well. “The Otherside 2” is the B-side of Nick’s brand new single “Ghostdream”, the follow-up of “The Otherside” (2004) and just the perfect exotic breeze in this weather.

Charli XCX – Roll With Me & ILY2:

2017 will be the year of Charli XCX! I know it seems quick to say, but you can’t deny I might be right. Charli’s Vroom Vroom EP out last year was the best pop we heard and it’s hard to image someone doing better, bigger and poppier this year than what she’s doing on her new mixtape Number 1 Angel. It’s no coincidence the only current alt-pop artist as good – or even better – than Charli is Art Angel Grimes.

TOPS – Petals:

If I get the chance to tour with one band in the whole world, it definitely would be TOPS. Jeanne Penny & co always seem to enjoy touring and performing so much – which is one of their greatest features. After three years I was finally able to push “Way To Be Loved” earworm out of my head, that they were ready to pull their new “Petals” right in!

CASI – The Beast:

She’s at the edge of a breakthrough, playing her first American show ever at the Pukkelpop stage at SXSW. The PC Music-ish Casi – she’s all about pink – is the new weird pop star to follow! The instrumentals in Casi’s third single “The Beast” refer to the title while she’s doubtlessly “The Beauty” in the story.

Little Dragon – Sweet:

It’s sad “Ritual Union” is still the only Little Dragon song earning frequent airplay. Yukimi Nagano’s previous LP “Nabuma Rubberband” included massive singles as “Klapp Klapp” or “Paris”. Her show at Pukkelpop a few years ago was overwhelming. As is ther new banger “Sweet”.

This track is described as “a late night, downtempo jam that’s as heartbreaking as it is lovely” on the Soundcloud account and we couldn’t agree more since it sounds as a late crying in the pillow track with a sense of real fragility.
