[su_dropcap style=”simple”]A[/su_dropcap] few times after the technological and urban visuals of “System“, Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke just released a beautiful and intimate video for “Indian Steps”, a track from his last album which features the inimitable voice of Antony Hegarty.

The video was directed by Daniel Sannwald and is a beautiful exploration of the landscapes of two elderly bodies. The visuals fit perfectly the emotional track and the German director said about it: “It was very touching and moving to see two aging bodies in such an intimate way. I wanted to use them as a symbol of time but also to capture the beauty of such vulnerability.”

“Indian Steps” is featured on “Lantern”, the second album of Hudson Mohawke that we reviewed earlier this year.

By the way, Antony is currently on all fronts as he just released “4 degrees” under the nickname of ANOHNI and it was produced by Oneohtrix Point Never and… Hudson Mohawke!

[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”1″]W[/su_dropcap]ARP collaboration with Channel 4’s refreshed Random Acts series has now a second episode. In the video of “System” by Hudson Mohawke, NYC’s buildings and streets are meticulously filmed from an helicopter in order to illustrate the complexity of the urban systems. Dominic Flanningan, who is the creative director of the Scottish label LuckyMe, and Nic Hamilton also collaborated on this installment.

Dominic Flanningan: “A favourite from Lantern, with ‘System’ Hud Mo was inspired by some tear-out Jeff Mills offset with those minimalist classical arpeggios – and when considering an associated film I thought of classic rave visuals and cg stock art of the late 90s where the grid of the city would be superimposed with circuit boards and processors. Here we updated it for 2015, commissioning our own 4K helicopter shoot over Manhattan which Nic Hamilton treated, placing in a CG environment that evokes Philip Glass ’1000 Airplanes On The Roof’.”

Nic Hamilton: “System is about big cities and screens, manic focused euphoria and cinematic panoramas. It is the experience of NYC from a helicopter at dawn with a 4G connection.”

[su_youtube_advanced url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnKzV2RlcsE” playlist=”vUGtLwFsQKg,Xdkqq0SpePU”]

“System” is taken from Hudson Mohawke‘s second LP “Lantern” that we reviewed earlier this year.

You can also watch Battles‘ video for “Dot Net”, which was the first episode of WARP x Channel 4‘s Random Acts series.
