This debut single was produced by Or Bahir, with contributions from LA-based artist Lee Triffon, and recorded at the Pluto Studios. These two collaborators actually belong to the israeli supergrpup EATLIZ.

“Confetti” was written 9 years ago and is probably Roni V‘s oldest song. The song, which was first written in Hebrew translated into English 2 years ago, shares about the similarities between love and fear, sparks and ashes and the damaged heart that bears all these emotional burdens. The mood and soberness on Roni V‘s track are set via wounded electro guitars and downcast low tempo beat; a pop version of Portishead that also reminds us of the sounds of Belgian band Hooverphonic. The artist likes to describe this sound as the bastard child of Quentin Tarantino and James Bond.

As Lee Triffon likes to explain it, her “Different Sun EP” is the result of life’s experiences and of her journey as an artist and musician. A personal and fascinating challenge that was not that easy. She met a lot of twists and turns on the way but, finally, she can share with us her music translation of all these experiences.

Her new indietronica song is an experience in itself: the spellbinding synths and vocal arrangements are bringing you in an introspective trip. Sometimes, when you try to change things, you talk to yourself and you feel alone, facing your own personnality. You can live in the denial or know the anger. “Mirrors in the Sand” invites you to cross the desert, in order to open your eyes and meet your new “yourself”.

About the track, the artist explains:
[su_quote]Many of the songs I write turn out to be messages to myself when I read them a while after I write them, a sort of mirrors of the experiences I go through at the time but can’t yet fully recognize or explain yet, kinda like an unconscious diary.
“Mirrors” In The Sand was written at a time when my life was dramatically changing but I didn’t realize it then. It talks about the deepest habits that are rooted inside and are unseen from our eyes, choices that are made from self-conditioning and the breaking of those habits.[/su_quote]

After having lived and grown up as the frontwoman of the prog-rock band Eatliz, the artist, who is from Tel Aviv but is now living in Los Angeles, was also part of the synthpop duo Mononokii. She also published music as Kokoro. All these previous lives lead us to say that the artist is not short of ideas and perseverance.

Lee Triffon‘s “Different Sun” is the debut single from an upcoming EP whose tracks will be monthly unveiled.

The song is announcing a new artistic and experimental move. It will be the first time for her to officially release music under her name as a solo artist. “Different Sun” was produced by London/Tel-Aviv based producer Ariel Levinsohn (Another MP) and sounds like Kylie Minogue going on acid or MDMA. It is striking in different aspects and we can’t wait next month for a new track!
