The power and strength of the voice pushes aside the harmonic boundaries with new singers as Örhn and her “Bang Bang” track, but also the experimental vocal electronic pop of Austrian-Brooklyn singer Milán on “Meaning” or with the more dark glowing and mystical pop by L.A. star Ninth Child with “Say What You Mean”. Newcomer Tepu is also bringing a fresh touch by showing his “darkside!”

Let the dust after the quake set and dive underneath with the inner-strengthening harmonies like the play- & soulful alt-pop of Penguin’s Lonely Heart on “The Day I Forgot To Sing” or with So Below who goes “Hard”. That’s the spirit!

After the release of a 3D video for their track “Valhalla (Reprise)“, they have now shared a 3D video for “Default Memory”. The animation features pictures taken by the duo during their travel around the world like France, Indonesia, the US, Mexico, among others. All this also contains some 3D animation of some transparent shapes. The animation is suspended into the pictures, which are for most of them landscapes, giving to the track a feeling of time that just stopped.

In the same vein as “Lucien”, “Sleep Now” is a magical lullaby that reminds a lot the works of Yeasayer, and this comparison is on purpose since they will taking the road together in Yeasayer’s American tour. We are still expecting some news for their tour in EU.

You can pre-order “Still Life” on Itunes, and you get “Lucien” and “Sleep Now” immediately if you click here.

Directed by Johann Rashid and Young Magic, the video uses a very Lord Of The Ring style showing an extreme magnificence. “Lucien” is taking from their album “Still Life” that is due to be released on May 13th via Carpark Records. Showing a lot of sensibility and fragility, we are truly digging the video that marries perfectly to the greatness of the track.

Directed by Vinyl Williams, the audio gets completely psychedelic, capturing the essence of the track. Via a statement, Melati Malay from Young Magic declared :

Valhalla (Reprise)’ was the last song recorded for Still Life during a late night session at Rioux’s studio in Bed Stuy – infinite loops circulating in a world between an ancient reality and a virtual one. For me, this album was a process of sifting through my family’s history to better understand the present, so naturally, it felt at home within the seeking, mirrored halls of Lionel’s Valhalla.

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]T[/su_dropcap]wo LPs later, duo Young Magic is coming back with a new album called “Still Life” due to be released on May 13 via Carpark Records. Sounding as profound and mysterious as we knew them with their previous releases, they shared with us the first track taken from that LP called “Lucien”, an experimental electronic down-tempo song

Melati Malay and Isaac Emmanuel are setting things up with this new project that is already captivating our ears. Using many instruments, coming from electronic sounds mixed to ethnics sounds collected in Indonesia (Melati Malay‘s hometown), the new LP might sound hypnotic and dark as violent as nature.
