Los Angeles DJ, producer and artist Allie Teilz has spent a good chunk of her life behind the decks, coming up in the city’s nightlife scene and sharing booths with names like Daft Punk, Grace Jones and James Murphy before gradually putting more focus on her own music. After introducing that side of herself with “Type of Girl” in 2024 and expanding on it with an EP a few months later, she is now getting ready to release her debut album as Teilz.
Titled Come to Mommy, her first full length arrives October 9. Teilz describes it as a collection of songs born from “the coldest winter of my life,” mixing much newer material with ideas she first started writing fifteen years ago. Co-produced with Nick Sylvester and Jorge Elbrecht, the record also comes wrapped in a bit of Persephone mythology. Teilz likes to describe it as her own pomegranate brought back from the underworld, with darkness turned into something sweeter.

The latest offering is “tiger”, the album’s third single, produced by Jorge Elbrecht. A slow prowl through the concrete jungle, the track leans into a darkly sensual strain of dream pop, with desire, surrender and that feeling of completely melting into the moment at its core. There is something seductive and slightly dangerous about it, and it fits neatly into the nocturnal synth world Teilz has built around the record.
It also comes with a beautiful hand-drawn animated video directed by Teilz herself and created with Open the Portal. The clip pays tribute to A-ha’s iconic “Take on Me” video, which she remembers as the first music video that truly blew her mind, as well as to the films of Hayao Miyazaki.
