Los Angeles-based Twin Oaks, a duo that are building bridges between post rock and dream pop, recently released a new EP: ‘Collapse’. Listen to the title track below.
Lauren Brown (Vocals, Guitar) and Aaron Domingo (Guitar, Programming, Keys) are the members of Twin Oaks. They started their music adventure back in 2011 as a bedroom folk act. For their latest EP, Lauren and Aaron teamed up with Grammy Award-Winning engineer Cassidy Turbin (Beck, Bat for Lashes, Thurston Moore) to helm mixing and post-production duties.
Following up to ‘Nothing’, Twin Oaks recently shared the title track of the ‘Collapse EP’. The song begins with a shivering and dreamy guitar riff that serves as a guide through those hypnotic four minutes. ‘Collapse’ is as beautiful as the lyrics are fatalistic. Brown’s vocals are perfect to give life to those words: ‘And I’ll watch them walk away, light the flame and throw it down. Watch a kingdom burn, no past for future.‘ A sublimate sadness that reminds us of wy at times.
