With “Waiting Game”, SAÍGO restores a bit more the meaning of “future soul”

We follow SAÍGO for quite some time already and every time the Los Angeles-based artist releases a new track, he keeps on impressing us. Today, he is back with a new single, “Waiting Game”, which is no exception to the rule.

Since his debut “So Natural“, the artist has released smart and deep productions that bring modernity into soul and jazz music. On this new track, the production is particularly accurate and we can be brought from groovy and catchy parts to low-key sections with a delighting finesse. And do you feel that bass too?

About this new single, SAÍGO detailed:

“Waiting Game is my long-view perspective, perhaps even a mantra, of progressive ideals in the midst of cultural evolution. If the goal is to adapt justice to an ever-changing society, the results-oriented ego will always be left waiting, unsatisfied.”

A lot of artists self-proclaim their music as ‘future R&B’ or ‘progressive soul’ but they rarely manage to bring the sound as high as the terms they use. With only three releases, SAÍGO keeps the promises and proves each time a bit more that he has what it takes to walk in the footsteps of major artists such as D’Angelo or Thundercat. We are now waiting for an EP or a full album to dive deeper into his lush soundscapes.

SAÍGO‘s “Waiting Game” follows up to “The Other“.
