Following up on “Starting Again,” singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jackson Phillips aka Day Wave has just unveiled “Potions,” the uplifting second single taken from his new EP. Dealing with identity and purpose, fate and independence, memory and nostalgia, the four new tracks are set to reconnect with his sonic roots. Phillips produced, mixed, and mastered the whole EP himself, in his new home base of Los Angeles.
“I was really just trying to make sense of things for myself with this EP,” he explained. “It’s easy to feel isolated, like your thoughts don’t matter or that you’ll never be good enough, but writing these songs was my way of trying to rid myself of those toxic ideas and open myself up to a better way of living. It was my way of trying to figure out who I really was.”
