There’s something quietly revolutionary about Escho, the Copenhagen-based label that’s been shaping the city’s alt-pop sound over the last decade. Home to boundary-pushing artists like Iceage, Liss, and Smerz, who blur the lines between electronic music, folk, pop, and art rock, Escho has always been less about genre and more about mood and vision. It’s one of our favorites: a label where experimentation and emotional clarity live side by side. Think of it as the spiritual heart of a scene that’s both intimate and expansive, rooted in local collaboration and fearless curiosity.
Among the most compelling new voices from this scene is Fine, a songwriter and producer whose music feels like a secret gently unfolding. Raised in Northern Jutland with guitar and banjo as a backdrop, she’s explored everything from electronic pop with Chinah to co-writing for New Jeans and lending vocals to Two Shell. But with last year’s Rocky Top Ballads, she stepped fully into her own world, one shaped by instinct, memory, and the quiet magic of everyday moments. Dreamy, sparse, and self-produced, her debut album invites close listening, carried by grainy guitars, spectral keys, and themes of longing and rediscovery.
Fine drifts softly into focus with “I Could”
Yesterday, Fine returned with a new single and video: “I Could.” It’s a slow-motion tumble of head-nodding drums, hypnotic bass, and shimmering guitar — like a soft-focus western scored by a bedroom producer. Her voice floats somewhere between desire and daydream, echoing feelings half-remembered or imagined. It’s mesmerizing. This month, Fine debuts her new project Coined (with equally amazing Astrid Sonne) at London’s ICA. After that, she hits the road — joining Good Sad Happy Bad for select UK dates, before launching into her fall EU headline tour. Watch the itinerary below.
