Norwegian producer and artist Kari Jahnsen, aka Farao, has just released her latest single “Waiting For You” via marvaða and Western Vinyl. The track is a glittering blend of disco, synthpop, and soul—dripping in nostalgia but polished with a modern twist.

“I wrote ‘Waiting for You’ to dance with the shadow of someone I lost,” Farao explains. “The kick is my pacemaker, the synths are tears of joy in waveform, and a funky disco bass just makes life worth living.” The track takes its groove cues from some deep musical gems—drawing inspiration from the soulful gospel-disco rarity “Faith Is The Key” by EnLIGHTment, and weaving in the chorus chords and bassline from the cult classic “Super Koto” by Ponzu Island.

“Waiting For You” arrives alongside a video, created by Sigurlaug Gísladóttir, and follows her recent solo release “Dreamy Ride”.
