crushed is the project of Bre Morell and Shaun Durkan, two artists who first teamed up on their 2023 EP extra life. With Morell based in Los Angeles and Durkan in Portland, the duo have been building a sound that blends emotional immediacy with sharp hooks and layered production, drawing from a shared love of ‘90s alt radio, electronica, and trip-hop.
Their debut album No Scope arrives soon on Ghostly International. Recorded between their homes and co-producer Jorge Elbrecht’s studio, the record feels like the culmination of their early work, shaped by instinct and trust in each other’s craft. It will feature the previously released singles “starburn” and “cwtch.”

Now, crushed present “oneshot,” the latest preview of the album. Speaking on the track, Bre Morell explains: “Not being able to walk away from a toxic relationship is a lot like being stuck on a difficult boss fight. Running back over and over again knowing that they will wreck you, but you cant stop because the torture is somehow still fun. Like Sniper Wolf making her final plea to Solid Snake, ‘oneshot’ is about lying on the brink of death, and begging to be put out of your misery.”
