Avalon Emerson & The Charm, Emerson’s pop-leaning alter ego, is back with “Eden,” a shimmering new single and her first release under this moniker since the 2023 & the Charm album. The track arrives with a video by director Ben Turok, capturing Avalon sprinting from her home in upstate New York to JFK Airport to make a last-minute flight to Europe. It almost plays like a prophecy, too, as the single’s release coincides with the announcement of a tour on the old continent.
“‘Eden’ is the voyage along the endless river carved between mountains of joy and loss, of experience and exhaustion,” Avalon Emerson explains. “We glide over a teeming riverbed of relationships and love, revealing the path itself is the point.” The track also reflects the creative momentum she’s been building since signing to Dead Oceans earlier this year. It grew out of her first studio session with Bullion after wrapping the & the Charm live tour in late 2023, a moment that made her realize this musical lane wasn’t “just a detour from DJing and dance music, but the entrance to a deep cave, full of passages to wander.”
