Today, we are happy to debut his crepuscular new single “sun7”, before it officially goes live tomorrow. Led once again by e.v.a, a fictional avatar he introduced on previous releases, the track begins with scattered vocal chops and glowing synths, then slowly blooms into something brighter and more physical. There is a strong Y2K feeling in the way the voices flicker and bend, but “sun7” also carries house warmth, lo fi vibes, and a subtle touch of French House nostalgia. As Charly puts it, the track was imagined as a summer soundtrack: “warm, nostalgic and melancholic, like the end of a day at the beach or the last track of a rave at sunrise.” Listen and support below.

Now, with her new single “Grandiose Love,” the opener and title track of her upcoming new album, that door bursts wide open. The song is playful, theatrical, and immediate ; a heady burst of sensuality and self-expression. Built on jam sessions with her band, it pulses with instinct rather than polish, driven by Zoee’s desire to “think big and elaborately” and shake off the urge to hold back. The result is tactile and overflowing, like the poetic world it conjures: one of oversized fruits, outstretched arms, and feelings too big to contain. Even the artwork shows the artist carrying a huge heart, wide open to the world. If “The Wave” cracked open the door, “Grandiose Love” kicks it down. This isn’t just a new sound for Zoee, it’s a declaration of joyful excess and rebirth.

After gaining early recognition by winning Danish X Factor, Vamilla (aka Mille Justinussen) has since carved out a distinct voice, writing intimate reflections on modern life from her bedroom. Her lyrics often dwell on the tension between our authentic selves and the curated personas we present online.

Blending electro-pop and hyperpop elements with lush, synth-laden backdrops, “What Do You Want?” delves into the paradox of being both chronically online and painfully self-aware. Over a saccharine synth-pop beat, she sings of fleeing to the ‘big city’, quitting her job, and cutting ties with friends in search of the elusive idea of ‘life’—only to realize, upon arrival, that she still doesn’t know what she’s looking for.

The track’s philosophical undercurrents are matched by its clever, self-aware execution: a pop song that parodies pop songs while still honoring the genre. Glittering synths and dreamlike, layered vocals create a sonic landscape filled with promise and possibility, subtly undercut by Vamilla’s scathing—and delightfully ironic—lyrics.

Vamilla describes the inspiration behind the track as “a neon pink ray coursing through my veins – like a shot of adrenaline,” adding that she wanted it to feel like “a sugar rush (…) like the beginning of a pipe dream.”

Who is in the band The Crying Nudes?

The mystery only deepened with the release of The Crying Nudes, a self-titled EP that arrived in September 2024 – and that made our Best Projects of 2024 end-of-year list. While the project initially maintained an air of secrecy, songwriting credits quietly revealed a collaboration between Blunt and Fine Glindvad Jensen — better known simply as Fine, a Danish artist whose voice feels both haunting and intimate. The EP delivered a sonic world that was hard to define and harder to forget — a hazy blend of short acoustic fragments, moody textures, and emotionally charged vocals that drift between presence and disappearance. 9 songs in 15 minutes : it was an album that asked to be felt more than understood.

Now, with the arrival of their new single “iber3ft,” The Crying Nudes continue to weave their strange, melancholic magic. Released yesterday in total discretion, the track leans into the band’s signature tension between vulnerability and detachment. The lyrics float like fragments of a half-remembered dream: “It’s so hard to say no / It’s so hard to let go / I’m still breathing the air around them…”

Over a minimal, looping rhythm, Fine’s voice once again feels like a guide through emotional shadows — tender, unsure, and eerily calm. The repetition of lines like “You never really listened” underscores a sense of betrayal, while the refrain “the breeze has come to get me” hints at a kind of surrender. In true Crying Nudes fashion, the track feels like the translation of a fleeting thought, lasting just 1 minute and 37 seconds. “iber3ft” doesn’t offer easy resolution. Like the group behind it, this song about emotional disorientation slips through definition — but lingers, unmistakably, in the atmosphere it leaves behind.

On their new single “Talk About It,” the Naarm/Melbourne trio distill the discomfort of avoidance into something soft, slow, and quietly arresting. Centered around a looping guitar motif, the track doesn’t so much build as it hovers, suspended in the tension of things left unsaid. “That’s how we deal with it, we leave it at the front door,” sings Kate Durman, her delivery measured and almost detached, as if rehearsing detachment is the only way to survive the weight of honesty.

Following their self-titled sophomore album in 2023, “Talk About It” feels like a natural continuation—less about catharsis, more about sitting with discomfort. It’s a song that lingers, refusing easy resolution, much like the conversations it hesitates to have.

Alongsidde the release, Acopia will embark on a European tour this May, with shows across the UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The run includes their debut London headline at The Lexington on May 19th, a fitting setting for a band whose music thrives in intimate spaces.

TOPS‘ “ICU2” is a a playful back-and-forth

Now, with their new single “ICU2,” TOPS step into a bold new phase, marking their debut on Ghostly International, after years of self-releasing and working with beloved Canadian indie label Arbutus. The track, debuted recently at Coachella, is everything we love about them: glimmering, flirtatious, elevated pop full of understated drama. Written as a playful back-and-forth between Penny and Cikojevic, “ICU2” drapes its flirtations in mystery. Beneath its catchy grooves lies a surreal tension, inspired by the psychedelic party scene in Midnight Cowboy (1969). “Almost like a caper, fantastical, like you’ve been caught searching for something in the dark,” says Penny, evoking that same hazy, dreamlike chaos where fantasy and reality blur. It’s a dazzling return and for sure there is more coming soon.

Their latest track, “Mermaid,” a collaboration with Australian indie outfit Cub Sport, is a glowing example of this evolution. Opening with glittery guitar lines and warped vocals, the song gradually builds into a soft-focus groove before dissolving into an ambient, operatic finale. It’s both melancholic and transcendent, inspired by the faded glamour of Hollywood and the strange beauty that still lingers beneath the surface.

“In this song, among other things, the glamorous Hollywood scenarios have already been turned upside down, the decline has begun and, for example, a persona as a mermaid in the sewers of Sunset Boulevard seems like a more attractive sidequest,” Pearly Drops explain. “Cub Sport‘s Tim felt a connection with the song ‘Mermaid,’ which we were working on at the time and the ethereal opera of the final section was born in an instant.”

Among the most compelling new voices from this scene is Fine, a songwriter and producer whose music feels like a secret gently unfolding. Raised in Northern Jutland with guitar and banjo as a backdrop, she’s explored everything from electronic pop with Chinah to co-writing for New Jeans and lending vocals to Two Shell. But with last year’s Rocky Top Ballads, she stepped fully into her own world, one shaped by instinct, memory, and the quiet magic of everyday moments. Dreamy, sparse, and self-produced, her debut album invites close listening, carried by grainy guitars, spectral keys, and themes of longing and rediscovery.

Fine drifts softly into focus with “I Could”

Yesterday, Fine returned with a new single and video: “I Could.” It’s a slow-motion tumble of head-nodding drums, hypnotic bass, and shimmering guitar — like a soft-focus western scored by a bedroom producer. Her voice floats somewhere between desire and daydream, echoing feelings half-remembered or imagined. It’s mesmerizing.
