Last year, New York musician and producer Deer park caught our attention with Terra Infirma, a record that drifted between hazy textures, ambient synths, and reverb soaked guitars. Also known as Andy Santella, Deer park has also developed a collaborative spirit that moves easily across scenes, including working with artists like fakemink or Ecco2k. Now he links up with London underground rapper Jawnino for a new two track release that feels perfectly at home in both of their worlds.
Jawnino and Deer park‘s trippy double single, titled Melancholia, brings together two immersive cuts: “Mattress” and “Buggy”. Both tracks lean into the pair’s shared taste for atmosphere as they drift through foggy instrumentals and introspective moods. “Mattress” unfolds slowly, letting its textures breathe while Jawnino’s throbbing delivery floats through the haze. The track depicts blurred late night scenes, moving between luxury flashes, restless thoughts, and rain soaked city moments. “Buggy” pushes things a little further with a guest appearance from fellow London underground voice YT.
