Lucy Gooch‘s Rain’s Break EP is out June 25 via Fire Records.
Following her signing to Fire Records, and the release of her single “Ash and Orange,” Bristol-based artist Lucy Gooch has just announced her sophomore EP, Rain’s Break, which is described as “an exploration of repression, longing and ‘otherness'”. She has also unveiled the title track, which draws inspiration from the monsoon scene at the end of Black Narcissus (1947).
“That amazing tradition in early film of using weather to reflect the character’s emotional journey – it seems cliched now but at the time it was revolutionary,” she stated. “This is my attempt at trying to recreate the feeling of total surrender to drama, of something totally sensual.”
