mango dreamgirl teases new EP with dreamy new song “Blue as Blood”

mango dreamgirl's "Blue as Blood" is out now.

There’s something special about stumbling onto an artist who feels like they exist slightly out of orbit. That’s exactly the lane we’re always exploring, and today it leads us straight to mango dreamgirl, the Brooklyn-based DIY project from producer and musician Mariel Ross. Operating in a space that feels both intricate and otherworldly, mango dreamgirl blends experimental electronic sounds with dream pop sensibilities, weaving in unexpected influences like baroque choral arrangements, fantasy aesthetics, and a touch of cyber-futurism.

Her latest single, “Blue as Blood”, floats somewhere between a lucid dream and a moment of quiet clarity. Lines like “close your eyes and feel the velvet, blue as blood still in the vein” pull you into its hazy atmosphere, while the tension quietly builds beneath the surface. As Ross puts it, “‘Blue as Blood’ explores the universal feeling of being stuck in a hole or a dreamscape where your reality can only change if you take the hand that guides you out.” The song also acts as the first glimpse of a new EP set to arrive this summer.
