Marie Davidson & L’Œil Nu‘s new album, Renegade Breakdown, is out September 25 on Ninja Tune.
Montreal’s musician and producer Marie Davidson has announced the creation of a new band, L’Œil Nu, which also comprises Pierre Guerineau (her husband with who she releases music as Essaie Pas) and Asaël R. Robitaille. According to the press release, Renegade Breakdown is “a reaction to years in which she spent most of her life on the road, navigating the club and festival lifestyle: the airports, the late nights, the lost or damaged gear—often alone.”
Released as lead single, the title track “Renegade Breakdown” seems to draw from pop music with a keen chorus and defiant lyrics reminiscent of the French enigmatic artist Mylène Farmer. Watch the visuals below.
